Rusty Hamrick brings an unparalleled combination of education and experience to the land brokerage business. In addition to earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Corporate Communication from the College of Charleston where he was a Malone Memorial & Palmetto Scholar, he holds a law degree from the Charleston School of Law and a Master’s Degree in Real Estate Development from Clemson University. During these academic pursuits Rusty also interned with a prominent Charleston real estate attorney, a local Wills, Trusts, and Estates attorney, and the Coastal Conservation League which is one of the most influential conservation groups in the Southeast. He completed all of these academic achievements while maintaining a ten year professional athletic career.
Following his academic and athletic achievements, Rusty was hired by NAI Earle Furman, LLC in 2010. The firm, which is one of the most successful NAI groups in the country, approached Rusty to launch a land division to market farms, hunting land, and plantations. He founded the Huff Creek Property brand and in the last five years has closed forty transactions in excess of $20MM in sales. The division’s current listing inventory is close to $50MM. He has authored twenty industry related articles for the quarterly Huff Creek Properties newsletter and been published on LandThink.com, the Upstate Business Journal, and Quality Whitetails magazine which is the official magazine of the Quality Deer Management Association.
His academic and professional career is just the beginning of his experience with high end farms, exceptional hunting land, and historic plantations. Rusty was raised on a 700 acre estate in the Piedmont Region of Upstate South Carolina where he received early exposure to timber & wildlife management, agricultural operations, pond/reservoir & impoundment management, easements, equestrianism, and land & wildlife conservation. This upbringing has instilled an indefinable connection with the rural lifestyle and he has a remarkable understanding of the desires and motivations of landowners and investors.
